Women and waste management : it ’ s not a common pairing , but it ’ s one that is found here in Calhoun County .
Ronda McMichael founded Wise Environmental Solutions in 2010 . The Calhoun County native and mother of two says that when she first got started all bets were against her , “ Nobody thought I ’ d make it ”.
McMichael explained that Mike McWilliams at the Talladega Super Speedway gave her an opportunity when no one else would . She took that opportunity and built a company that is highly respected in the waste management field .
With facilities in Calhoun , Walker , and Jefferson Counties , Wise is
poised to expand . The company supplies portable restrooms , front load dumpster boxes , roll off dumpster boxes , septic services , and industrial vacuuming .
McMichael was proud to say that the people at Wise do their best work when faced with a difficult situation . “ We are problem solvers . Folks don ’ t call us when their septic service is working fine .
