Last month we wondered what kind of
movies we should be watching to get amped
up for Christmas this year, and we asked you,
the readers, what your favorite holiday flicks
were to use as a loose guide to our holiday
entertainment. We were pretty surprised at
some of your responses!
Sure, there were plenty of classics on the
list. “It’s a Wonderful Life” was a strong
contender, “A Christmas Story” got some
mentions, and “Christmas Vacation” received
a little love, too. But a few readers had some
less common mentions we had to share:
Amy Steen-Hurst - “‘Scrooged’, the Bill Murray
movie, is one of my faves!”
Lori Brooks Lear - “Since Halloween weekend
Hallmark has returned with their Christmas
themed movies and I've enjoyed them all.

Caren Hayes - “My favorite Christmas movie
is ELF. I love this movie because I enjoy seeing
my children laugh as they watch it. I's a funny
movie, but has a great lesson about family and
believing in the magic of Christmas :)”
Patricia Free - “Oddly enough one of my
favorite Christmas movies is Friday after next,
starring Ice Cube. The skinny Santa robbing
every one, sometimes twice.”
This month’s winning response, however, is
a definite classic, with reader Karen Smith
suggesting that her “favorite movie is ‘It’s a
