Free Wash, Dry, Soap, Softener, Drinks, Snacks, food and books for the kids 9 August Blind Draw Dart Tournament at The Darkhorse – 6:30pm 10 Ride for Wesley 1pm at Harley-Davidson This ride will benefit Wesley Lyons. He’s a five year old that has been courageously battling Leukemia. All proceeds will be donated to the family. Everyone who pre- registers by July 28th will be given a free t-shirt. Registration will be available the day of the Poker run from 10:30-12:30. Kickstands will go up at 1pm and conclude at 4:30 back at Mt Cheaha Harley Davidson. 10 Saturday Alive! Battling Extinction 11am till noon – Anniston Museum It’s time again for a new exhibit here at Anniston Museum and this one is all about urging people to question how certain critters ended up in such dire conditions. Even Alabama is not exempt from the extinction threat, having several animals that fall into categories from threatened to endangered. Guests will learn about what causes extinction crises, the problems fac- 48 ing animals in Alabama and neighboring states, and how to help them continue to thrive for future generations. Program is included with museum admis- sion. AM&G Members are free. Seating is limited and first come, first served 10 Out of the Vault: Under the Radar 1:30pm to 2:30pm at Berman Museum As an intelligence operative during World War II, Colonel Berman and his colleagues operated in secret. Join the Berman Mu- seum for this special program, which will highlight the artifacts that helped Colonel Berman and the Office of Strategic Ser- vices fulfill their missions while maintain- ing secrecy. This program will take place in the Deadly Beauty gallery. This program is included in museum admission; AM&G members are free. 10 Battling Extinction Story Time 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm - Anniston Museum of Natural History Join us for a special story time highlighting our endangered species and what we can do to help our plants and animals. Every child participating will be given the op- portunity to interact with hands-on items and create a take-home craft. Story time is designed for our younger friends, pre-k through elementary school. Program is in- cluded in museum admission. AM&G Mem- bers are free. Seating is limited and first come, first served.
