Effie’s Mobile Kitchen
is serving up gourmet sandwiches “faster
than fast food” to industry employees and
the general public in Calhoun County and
surrounding areas. While the food truck
is a part of the Effina’s family, you will find
much more than Italian food on board.
Steven Landers, of Effina’s Downtown
in Anniston and Effina’s Tuscan Grill in
Jacksonville, is serving Greek gyros, cuban
sandwiches, Philly cheesesteaks, and more
out of the food truck. “We call it Effie’s
Mobile Kitchen because my grandmother,
her name was Effie, she inspired me,”
Landers explains. “I sort of came up with
Effina’s as a play on words. Her name was
28
Effie, but to make it Italian we called it
Effina’s . . . but this is Effie’s Mobile Kitchen
so we can do whatever we want.”
“We’re focused on providing lunches for
industries,” he says. Effie’s Mobile Kitchen
parks at New Flyer in Anniston on Mondays
and at the Pell City Industrial Park on
Tuesdays and Wednesdays. “The other
two days of the week, on Thursday and
Friday, we’re out in Anniston/Oxford sort
of available to the public,” Landers says.
On Thursdays the truck is parked across
from Long Leaf Lodge at Fort McClellan
and on Fridays it is set up in front of Classic
Customs on Highway 78 in Oxford.
Effie’s Mobile Kitchen is typically open
from 11:00 am to 1:00 or 1:30 pm at each
