1 Journey for Hope Walk Choccolocco Park – 9am
• The path to healing can be a long one for sexual assault survivors . Every journey is different and important . The Journey For Hope Walk is a walk of recognition , support , and solidarity . Survivors , their loved ones , advocates , and community members are welcome to attend .
• The event will be held on April 1st at the Choccolocco Park in Oxford . Walking will begin at 9:00 and since each journey is different , will end when each person is individually ready for it to conclude .
• This year ' s picnic will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM and has been generously provided by the Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center .
• Information about this year ' s shirts will be coming soon .
• Walkers may bring their own signs or carry one of ours .
• This is a family friendly event . The Choccolocco Park has a gated playground area for children and there are also bathrooms located near the playground area .

7 Smoke on the Falls BBQ Festival in Gadsden Smoke on the Falls , presented by City of Gadsden Parks and Recreation Department , is back Friday April 7th- Saturday April 8th at the Noccalula Falls Campground for the 8th year . The highlight of the weekend is the Kansas City Barbecue Society Certified Barbecue contests pitting 48 teams in the Professional and Backyard divisions . Cooks from far and wide will be fiercely competing for more than $ 3,000 in the Backyard division and more than $ 11,000 in the Professional division .
