Main Street Anniston ’ s Makers Market begins April 28 . You can expect live music , performances and demonstrations , homemade crafts , local art , and much more at the monthly gathering downtown Anniston every fourth Friday through October .
“ I think it will appeal to a variety of ages and demographics ,” says Meredith Strain with the city of Anniston . Makers Market brings new opportunity for our community to enjoy downtown Anniston and all that our area has to offer .
Makers Market will open from 6:00 - 8:00 pm each month and will move locations . Strain say organizers “ wanted to shorten the footprint downtown of where it is going to be located ”. In April , Makers Market will be on the 900 block of Noble St . and East 10th St ., up to Wilmer Ave . In May , the market will move to the 1000 block of Noble St . and will include West 11th St .
The moving market will give all of the businesses downtown an opportunity for involvement . “ We wanted the side street businesses or spaces to get that attraction as well ,” explained Strain .
Booth exhibits will line the streets presenting crafts , art , leather and woodwork , baked goods , homemade jewelry , and so much more . Makers Market invites all types of vendors to join . The price for a booth is $ 25.00 per month or $ 20 per month to sign up for all seven months .

In addition to craft and art vendors , Makers Market will offer a unique walking tour each month . In April , you ’ re invited to stroll downtown for the “ How Art Moves You ” tour . As Makers Market and the guided tours grow , Strain hopes that businesses will host wine or food tastings throughout the tours .
