What is “ Taste on Noble ”?
“ Taste on Noble ” is a tasty showcase of area restaurants . Nine local restaurants will line Noble Street to serve up their one-of-akind meats , treats , and more from 11:00 am - 7:00 pm . Enjoy modestly priced snacks , lunch , and dinner while relaxing at outdoor tables in a festival atmosphere .
What is the Sunny King Criterium bike race ?
If you haven ’ t experienced the pro cycling event , DO this year ! It ’ s NASCAR on two wheels ! Some racers will zoom by you at speeds in excess of 35mph ! Racers from amateur to Pro level will compete all day long in multiple races . The Sunny King Criterium is part of the official USA Cycling Pro Road Tour ( PRT ). Hundreds of pro male and female racers from around the world will compete . “ Criterium ” is actually a lap race , so you ’ ll see these athletes going around and around , led by the Sunny King Pace Car . So make some noise ! Clap your hands ! Pump your fists ! See the winners crowned on the Sunny King podium throughout the day then stick around for autographs and photos with the racers . If you ’ re hanging out near the Start / Finish line , you will be able to see action on the backside of the race course by looking up and watching the Eastman JumboTron . And if you can ’ t be downtown all day , watch the races on the live stream at home on your computer , or on your mobile device . Brad Sohner will announce the races on the live stream . What is a Criterium ( Crit for short ) style bicycle race ?
The race course is closed to traffic , typically less than a mile in distance and is characterized by sharp corners and speeds of over 30mph . The Sunny King Criterium will feature a 0.7 mile course which covers a large square downtown . From the intersection of Noble Street and 11th Street ( the Start / Finish ) travel east on 11th to Wilmer . Turn left , ( north ) on Wilmer to 12th Street . Turn left ( west ) on 12th , crossing Noble to Moore . Turn left ( south ) on Moore to 11th Street . Turn left ( east ) on 11th and complete the loop at 11th and Noble . Racers will speed around this course for a set number of times ( some races are 30 minutes , the more advanced races are 60 minutes in duration ). The first cyclist to cross the finish line on the last lap when time runs out wins .
What are the kids ’ bike and running races ?
So popular … so fun ! Mellow Mushroom Mad Dash running race for kids is an exciting , one-lap trot around the three quarters of a mile bike race course , with a super awesome finish before fans ! The Mellow Mushroom Mad Dash starts at 4:50 pm . Kids from tricycle-age to Grade 6 will pedal their a few hundred yards , and cross the “ big kids ” Finish Line of the Sunny King Criterium course in front of thousands of cheering fans .
