The team has a rich history of success . In fact , the Sunny King Criterium is a bit of a homecoming for Ty Magner who won in 2015 riding for the Hincapie team . In 2016 he placed 5th riding for another group , but this year he ’ s back .
Magner has special ties to Calhoun County . His mother was born in Anniston , and his great-grandfather , Frank Casey , was the mayor of Jacksonville . “ It ’ s always special to race in Anniston , winning is a bonus .”
While the men of Holowesko | Citadel p / b Hincapie Sportswear share a common goal of winning , Craven pushes the team to do more . “ It ’ s important to have everyone rounded out as an actual person as opposed to just a professional athlete .”
Through Craven ’ s leadership , team members took an opportunity to give back during their annual camp in March . The cyclists and staff worked with the Greenville , SC chapter of Meals on Wheels to cook and package more than 1400 meals for homebound residents in the area .
“ I really want to instill , not only the racing knowledge that I ’ ve gained over the last 50 years , but also just the regular life knowledge ,” explained Craven . “ Doing things like that with

Meals on Wheels is important to me and to the Hincapie brand .”
With a dozen team members spread out across the country , Holowesko | Citadel p / b Hincapie Sportswear places a lot of emphasis on bonding at their camp each year . “ The team takes the practice of fun and happiness and applies it to every aspect while on the road ,” explained Magner . “ The recipe for success starts with happiness , and that ’ s what Holowesko | Citadel Racing Team is all about .”
