In addition to a regular menu each night,
“Gourmet 2 Go” features two dinners that
rotate on a two week schedule, available
nightly through their run. Assuming weekly
visits, guests could have something new
every week without even touching the
regular menu, which not only assures
variety for patrons, but that Watson can
always innovate when inspiration strikes.
As of late March the remodel is nearly
complete, with a planned grand opening on
April 11. The PondeRosie’s crew is excited
to have the place finally open — one of
the kids can’t decide if he’s happier to start
making money or start eating the food —
and the founding partners are ready to start
showing the community what they can do
with a full-fledged restaurant.
Rosie’s remains a family affair, with the
teenaged kids of Hardy and Lowery Combs
working as servers and kitchen staff, and the
sisters’ mother helping out as well (some
would say in an extreme advisory role). The
family’s tech past also shines through, with
servers using iPads to write up orders, and
a large monitor that displays the menu and
live updates from the restaurant’s website.
“It’s been really exciting and people have
been so gracious,” said Lowery Combs. “We
can feel the anticipation and excitement.” ✻
