The realization led Roberts to contact JSU officials to hold the concert, which previously
drew as many as 1,000
attendees, according to
Roberts, at a JSU facility.
As negotiations continued, the possibility of
using the coliseum was
offered, which Roberts
readily accepted.
Other
performances
throughout the evening include guest
speakers and testimonials between bands,
while equipment is
shifted, including local
pastor Chris Terrell, former Major League Baseball player and Atlanta
Brave Chris Hammond
and a performance by
Tayllor Hanson, who
won a Birmingham-based radio talent
contest with more than 3,300 votes, making her a fan-favorite singer.
Roberts hopes that the location and lineup will allow the festival’s impact to keep
growing, going so far as to say that if even
one life is changed for the better by the
show it will have been worth handling the
business side of the show.
“There’s no stigma at JSU, people are likely
to come and we can definitely reach youth
April 2015
and young adults, and impact a secular
university for the kingdom of God,” said
Roberts.
Consumed is April 11 from 5:30 - 9 PM at
Pete Mathews Coliseum at Jacksonville
State University. Admission to Consumed
is free, though a “love offering” of $5 is
suggested but not required. VIP tickets

available as contest prizes through the
event’s Facebook page. ✻
