Music INSIGHT
A
nnual Christian concert “Consumed” returns for its third year
in a row April 11 at 5:30, featuring
Disciple, Decyfer Down and Seventh Day
Slumber at the Pete Mathews Coliseum at
Jacksonville State University.
“These are great, ministry-oriented bands,”
said David Roberts, who organizes the annual event as part of his Crimson Flame
ministry. The bands come in graded levels
of rock extremity, from Seventh Day Slum-
ber’s straight rock to Decyfer Down’s hard
and Southern rock style, with Disciple performing alt and Southern metal.
“I had a friend with a local ministry ask me
who I was trying to reach with Consumed,”
said Roberts, who previously based the music festival at Anniston’s Zinn Park pavilion.
“I have a heart for my city and want this
region to be changed and advance God’s
kingdom, but my heart is for youth and
young adults.”
