RYE BAY SCALLOP WEEK: 25 RESTAURANTS TO SERVE SCALLOPS!

Rye Bay Scallop Week 2017 takes place this month from 18th- 26th, and already 25 restaurants in and around Rye have signed up to put delicious scallop dishes on their menus.
This year there are plenty of cooking courses, demonstrations and taster events too. Webbe’ s at The Fish Café will be repeating their‘ Scallop School’, now in its 12th year, where participants prepare and eat their own seven-course luncheon. Webbe’ s also have their own cooking demonstration where Paul Webbe will be demonstrating the versatility of this prized mollusc followed by a five-course meal.
At the recently refurbished Horse & Cart in Peasmarsh, guests will be invited to learn how to make pizza dough and how to prepare and poach scallops to assemble and cook a scallop pizza. Also, returning this year to the Landgate Bistro is the Scallop Bash; a seven-course tasting menu not to be missed.

SUSSEX BUSINESS SEARCHING FOR YOUNG GEMS

South Link Logistics is delighted to launch the‘ GEM Awards’, which aim to recognise Sussex secondary school children who have gone the extra mile and deserve to be awarded for their achievements. The first GEM Award will go to a young person who has done something great in their local community and South Link is calling out to schools, family members and friends to send in nominations.
Perhaps a young person has organised an event to raise money for charity, dedicates some of their spare time to volunteering, or has made a positive impact on their town? Whatever the reason, South Link would like to hear about it. Each GEM winner will be presented with a Samsung Galaxy Tablet.

All entries should include both the nominator and nominee’ s names and contact telephone numbers, the age of the nominee, the name of their school and why they deserve to be rewarded.

FEBRUARY OPENING FOR WEST SUSSEX’ S BIGGEST TRAMPOLINE PARK IN CHICHESTER

Work is underway on West Sussex’ s biggest trampoline park which is due to open later this month.
The 22,500sq-ft arena in Chichester is being developed by Flip Out, which is the UK’ s fastest growing trampoline park operator.
The Glenmore Business Park store is the second to be opened by entrepreneurs Richard and Ryan Wootton, who opened Flip Out Southampton last July. Along with a huge arena filled with interconnected trampolines, Flip Out Chichester offers customers a range of other fun ways to bounce. The attraction features dodge ball, parkour for both adults and kids, slam ball, foam pits and a rock climbing wall.
“ We’ re excited about bringing this complete trampolining experience to Chichester,” said Director of Flip Out Chichester, Richard Wootton.“ Flip Out will cater for all bouncers from beginners to experienced; there’ s also a soft-play area for under-fives, free Wi-Fi and an upper level with Pizza Oven Café.”
