SET WITHIN THE ROLLING HILLS OF THE SUSSEX DOWNS NATIONAL PARK, Proud Country House sits in the picturesque Stanmer Village in Stanmer Park. Just a moment from the hustle and bustle of the buzzing city of Brighton, it’ s a tranquil setting that’ s every bride ' s dream.
The house is home to a wonderful restaurant which is open seven days a week with views out across the perfectly mown lawns towards 500 hectares of parkland. Guests are welcome to come and relax by one of the many open fires with a coffee, meet friends for a drink in the house bar, or celebrate a family occasion in the private dining room.
Proud Country House is the perfect venue for a variety of events. With the space to cater for one-on-one meetings, team building, corporate dinners, private dining, anniversaries, birthdays, wakes, christenings and weddings. Whatever the event, Stanmer House can accommodate it in one of their many rooms.
This 18th-century manor house is steeped in history and has been beautifully restored, encompassing stylish and contemporary designs while retaining the original splendour of the house. Tall ceilings are embellished with gold leaf and chandeliers, and double doors swing out onto the manicured lawns and a lavender-lined footpath that leads to a bubbling fountain standing proudly in front of the new, magnificent marquee.
Proud Country House is a popular wedding venue and is licensed to hold ceremonies for up to 100 guests and receptions for many more, and weddings can be held at the house throughout the year come rain or shine. With a belief that no one day is the same, the events team work closely with couples to create a truly unique package to accommodate all dreams and desires. Whether it ' s a wedding for 10 with afternoon tea served in the garden, or a grand affair for 200 guests, each is just as important as the next.
The vast grounds and manor house are the perfect setting for any wedding: the sense of history and welcoming atmosphere creates an environment that is both inspiring and comfortable, ensuring the bride and groom and their guests will have the most wonderful day – from the moment they step through the grand entrance, the magic of the house comes alive.
A wonderful team of chefs create mouthwatering menus for couples to choose from, heralding the use of locally sourced produce that’ s cooked freshly to order ensuring guests are left satisfied and happy. From canapés, three-course menus and evening buffets to afternoon tea or a hog roast, every taste is catered for.
To showcase this spectacular wedding venue, Proud Country House will be hosting a beautiful wedding fair on Sunday 26th February from 11am- 4pm. Entry is free and there will a lovely selection of wedding suppliers to meet, nibbles to sample, and even a little tipple of something bubbly.
