ANDREW LAWRENCE: THE HATE
SPEECH TOUR // 28 JAN
THE DRESSER // 25 JAN-4 FEB
Ken Stott and Reece Shearsmith come together as lead actor ‘Sir’,
and Norman ‘the dresser’ in this eagerly awaited revival direct
from the West End. Both hilarious and poignant, The Dresser
explores the relationship between two men who are reluctantly
and inevitably codependent. As World War II rages, backstage in a
provincial English theatre, an ageing, once-famous classical actor
is troubled. Sir, the last in a dying breed of great Shakespearean
actors, is unwilling to take to the stage to deliver his renowned
portrayal of King Lear. It falls to his faithful dresser, Norman, to
rouse another great performance from him, to keep both the show
and its star from falling apart. Renowned as Ronald Harwood’s
greatest play, The Dresser has been nominated for Olivier and Tony
awards, as well as an Academy Award for the screenplay of the film.
7.30pm (Thursday and Saturday matinees 2.30pm). Price: from £15

Rob Richings is excited to
announce he will be opening for
West End star, Ramin Karimloo on
his eleven-date January 2017 UK
tour. Rob Richings is a man making
good on a promise to himself. The
singer-songwriter’s debut album,
Parkas and Boots, is a collection of
observant and personal folk songs
– the tales of a troubadour who
knows too well how fragile life can
be. After releasing his debut EP, Half
Way Up, in 2015 – recorded in the
New Forest – Rob decided to head
to more distant shores to record the
album. Parkas and Boots came to
life in Sydney, Australia, under the
guidance of producer Chris Vallejo.
