FASHIONISTA DARLINGS, BLOOM TWINS
FRESH FROM SUPPORTING DURAN DURAN
ON WINTER UK ARENA TOUR
BORN IN THE UKRAINE, 19-YEAR-OLD IDENTICAL TWINS, SONIA AND ANNA KUPRIENKO
GREW UP IN A SMALL TOWN OUTSIDE OF KIEV. THEY WERE BOTH CLASSICALLY TRAINED,
BECOMING ACCOMPLISHED MUSICIANS AND SINGERS AT AN EARLY AGE.
Last year, they decided to leave the political turmoil at home behind and
move to London where they are able to pursue their unique musical
vision. The sound that has emerged is an intoxicating mix, shaped
by their unusual background and perspective; it crosses over several
genres of music. They fuse stylish electronica with haunting melodies,
delivered in their distinctive vocal style, embellishing the sound with flute,
harmonica and piano creating truly modern results.
Following the release of a cover version of the classic Bob Marley song
“Get up, Stand up”, Bloom Twins were featured on BBC NewsNight
with Jeremy Paxman and graced the pages of broadsheet newspapers
including The Sunday Times and The Guardian along with Newsweek
magazine.
During 2015 they have continued to build momentum playing several
headlining concerts at venues around London and makin g an appearance
in Unicef’s Imagine campaign alongside Katy Perry and Will.i.am.
After uploading their debut track “Fahrenheit” to YouTube in 2013, Bloom
Twins had a double impact on both music and fashion, opening the
doors to numerous profile pieces in magazines such as Paradigm, Vogue,
Numero and ID. Soon after, a support slot for Eels at O2 Academy in
Liverpool was followed by MTV Iggy’s artist of the week.
Bloom Twins are currently working on their debut album to be released in
2016 and have been in the studio co-writing with Nick Rhodes, who has
also produced the songs.
In 2014 Bloom Twins continued to build their online presence releasing
a string of new songs and videos which generated much social media
attention. They also performed at a series of exclusive live events from
prestigious festival The Great Escape Festival to Hermes’s Flaneur
Experience in London, Summer Series at Somerset House, Ronnie
Scott’s and Heart in Ibiza.
