Looking to the future
“I want to re-engage with the community.
I think a lot of people have lost touch with
Worthing FC and may not even know that it
is even here. I want this to be a place where
people want to come to.” The centre is open
to all, with the option for visitors to hire out the
pitch. So far Worthing Sixth Form College will
be using the facility for their football academy
and a number of local teams are using the
pitch to train for the upcoming season. The
club will also play host to Leisure Leagues who
will be kicking off a new 6-a-side league on
Monday 7th September.
George is also in the development stages
of launching a new initiative on behalf of the
club: the Worthing Football Foundation. He
envisages this as an opportunity for coaches
and players to partner with local schools and
colleges, working with them in their physical
education lessons and giving them the chance
to use the new facilities at the club.
