MUSICFESTIVALS
a summer of music, cont.
Wild Heart Gathering // 22-25 May
Glastonwick // 29-31 May
This is a weekend of exquisite music, amazing workshops, wild crafts,
delicious food, talks, debates, ceremony, forages, bushcraft, yoga,
dancing, Shamanism, nature connection, meditation, song and much
more. Wild Heart is a wonderful opportunity to spend time in nature at
one of the most beautiful times of year. There will be fantastic music,
poetry and spoken word from around the world, with a cornucopia of
delights to awaken that wild heart and soul.

Described as both the music festival with good beer, and the beer festival
with good music, Glastonwick is a combination of the two, with added
fun and family activities thrown in for good measure. The Men They
Couldn’t Hang, The Piranhas, Robb Johnson and the Irregulars, and The
Wellington Wailers all make an appearance over the weekend, and the
beers (including, of course, real ale) are the most unique and rare you will
find in the area. Enjoy them while they last!

Three Friday Nights // 5 June, 12 June & 19 June
Three Friday Nights is a series of superb evenings filled with racing,
music, and dancing. The first event to enjoy is the horse racing itself,
starting at 6pm.
Then, when the sun
goes down and lights
come up, it’s time to
kick up your heels
on the hallowed turf
of the Parade Ring,
and dance the night
away with the help
of three world-class
DJs. DJs for these
events are: Friday 5
June: 2manydjs DJ
Set; Friday 12 June:
Gorgon City DJ Set;
Friday 19 June:
Idris Elba.

When a festival
is presented
and curated by
the headliners
themselves,
you know it’s
going to be
good. One of
the most highly
anticipated
Disclosure and Rudimental at Brighton City Airport
events on
the Sussex
summer calendar is Wild Life Festival at Brighton City Airport.
This two-day event boasts some of the biggest names in music,
including Disclosure and Rudimental (the event presenters), Sam
Smith, Wu-Tang Clan, Annie Mac, George Ezra, NAS, Mark
Ronson, Soul II Souland lots more. Come rain or shine, this event
may very well be the highlight of the summer.

Bexhill Festival of Music // 25 May – 5 July
The Bexhill Festival of Music is now in its 8th year, and is a
magnificent combination of musical genres. Incorporating
its very own Last Night of the Proms, the Magic of the
Musicals (which has Ruthie Heshall performing in it), and
superb performances from both local talent and stars
from further afield, this epic music festival has it all. With
so many events and shows, it would be impossible not to
find something to enjoy!
