Tate Britain, located in Milbank,
opened in 1897, and has since
housed the most creative,
beautiful, and thoughtprovoking pieces of art around.
The works here range from
1500 to the present day, and
its collection – open to the
public – is thought to be the
most complete collection of
its kind. Francis Bacon, Tracey
Emin, John Constable, and
William Blake, amongst others,
have all had their works
displayed here.

With almost five million visitors each year, Tate Modern is the country’s
most popular, and most celebrated modern art gallery. This seven-storey
building is full of contemporary art from 1900 to the present day, and
specialises in temporary exhibitions that are the cause of debate and
discussion around the world. Exciting and fluid, the works on display at Tate
Modern are sometimes brutal, sometimes beautiful, and always honest.
Artists who have had work displayed here include Rachel Whiteread, Tino
Sehgal, and Doris Salcedo.
