ROYAL VICTORIA HOTEL SEA TERRACE RESTAURANT

Located on the seafront of St Leonards, amongst the art galleries, antique shops and boutiques of this up-and-coming area, The Royal Victoria Hotel’ s Sea Terrace Restaurant offers fine dining with unparalleled views across the English Channel. Bright and airy during the day, at night the restaurant of this traditional Victorian hotel transforms into a cosy setting with the perfect atmosphere for a romantic dinner or a meal amongst friends.
But that’ s just the setting! Our head chef uses the freshest local ingredients to produce his modern British and traditional European dishes, and serves up a locally famous carvery each Sunday. We’ re located just over a mile from Hastings’ historic old town, with its famous net drying huts and fish mongers, so you’ re guaranteed the freshest fish dishes, alongside meat from local butchers and wonderful seasonal ingredients – all bought locally wherever possible. A fresh Table d’ Hôte menu is presented each day, so things never get boring and most dishes can be adapted to suit those with allergies or dietary requirements. We also offer a children’ s menu for family dining.
Our popular and elegant afternoon tea is served each day in the Piano Lounge, which was used as the setting for the BBC’ s recent period drama, Mapp & Lucia. With its grand piano, handpainted mural and vast windows looking out to sea, guests are taken back to a by-gone period, but the food and service is modern and friendly. If you’ re looking for a truly unique venue for a party, wedding, wake or any kind of celebration, the Sea Terrace Restaurant is the perfect location. With the capacity to seat up to 100 people for a sit down meal, a well-stocked bar and luxurious bedrooms to retreat to after a fabulous night of celebrations, we have every base covered. You’ ll also be in majestic company – the hotel was re-named for Queen Victoria who visited not long after the building’ s opening in 1828, along with many famous poets and politicians of the 19th century.
The Sea Terrace Restaurant is open to residents and non-residents so it’ s best to book to avoid disappointment.
