Those who are aware of the show
will most likely know that the
iconic song “candy store”, and the
corresponding dance takes a big
part in the branding of the show,
and thankfully the west end does it
justice. Of course the London show
puts its own twist on the dance as
it has on the entire show, but
when watching you can’t say that
it is a completely different dance.
Its style hasn’t been changed and
if watching alone without the track
its probable that you would still be
able to identify the iconic dance.

On top of this, the quality of the
dancing throughout can be put on
almost the same level as the
Broadway production, the only
small difference can be put down
to the experience of the cast, when
seen at The Other Palace it was
clear this was one of the first
performances the group had done,
this isn’t to say that it was bad, in
fact it was still up to a high
standard, but when compared to
Broadway its confidence that since
the transfer to the proper west end
we can trust will only get better
and
maybe
even
surpass
broadways. This can also be said
for all the other numbers in the
show, as a whole the acting and
dancing is amazing, but the lesser
experience is what makes the
Broadway
production just that
little bit better.
Original Broadway cast photo
To conclude this comparison, between the
two shows the west-end’s production is
worth a watch whether or not you’ve seen
the original Broadway production. The
Broadway production will always be a classic
and the original cast recording will probably
always stay as the most popular soundtrack
in relevance to the brand. However, If you
have seen the original, you wont be
disappointed because of
the range of
different songs and the clear development
from the writers; a whole new outlook and
style is brought to the musical that is clear
to avid fans if they have or are to watch it.
If you haven't heard of heathers then I
heavily suggest watching, the show is well
worth the watch for the humour, music
acting and just in general entertainment, so
if you have the opportunity to get tickets it
is best to take them and go.
