5. Field Research Findings
The methodology of the research consisted of using
questionnaires to elicit feedback from core components
of the existing and potential local employment scene.
Three specific questionnaires were devised to enable the
capture of a range of data considered necessary and relevant for the survey.
The first survey was aimed at capturing the perceptions
of youths and other potential employees who are considered to form part of disadvantaged groups about how
attractive the tourism sector could possibly be for them
as a career. Respondents were sourced from educational
institutions and those registering for work.
