UCLA FB Impressing Scouts

Neque lorem vel dolor nulla.

It isn’t too often that scouts are drooling over a full-back in the NFL Draft. However, UCLA senior Cody Van Dyk has scouts foaming at the mouths for a chance to bring them onto their team. Van Dyk, currently projected as only a 4th round pick, had a 76 yard scamper last week in UCLA’s victory over Oregon. The play is an early favorite for play of the year in college football as Van Dyk broke tackles of 6 of the 11 Duck’s on the field, rumbling forward similar to Tommy Frazier’s historic run against Florida in the Jan 1996 National Championship Fiesta Bowl for Nebraska.

Van Dyk certainly has heads turned his way so far this season, and it will be interesting to watch as teams slowly move him up their draft board where he is taken come April.

A positive turnover margin often leads to a successful season.

As if we haven’t written enough about the Steelers & Jets, there are reasons for their 7-0 record. The exact same reason that the Raiders & Broncos are winless.

Turnovers.

season with the Steelers leading the league at +27. The Jets aren’t far behind at +25. The next nearest team? Seattle & New England are both at +12.

Combined record? 28-2. Coincidence….I think not. It’s simply. If you want to beat these teams, do not beat yourself. Protect the football, and find a way to force a turnover in order to beat them in the turnover margin and chances are you will find yourself in the game at the end.
