After back to back seasons of being the MVP favorite in as late as week 15, Derrick Henry has been relatively quiet this year.

He nearly rushed for 2,000 yards in each of his first 2 seasons, and currently leads the league in rushing yards at the time of publication by over 150 yards.

Henry has 903 yards on the year, with 9 touchdown runs, but to look at what he has done in his first 2 ½ seasons in the league, is simply remarkable.

Henry has accounted for 4541 rushing yards on 719 carries (6.3 yards per carry), finding the end zone 50 times on the ground. Through the air he has 64 catches for 622 more yards, finding the end zone 7 times. He has fumbled 3 times on his 719 carries, another stat he is most proud of.

In 2 and a half years, he has 5,163 yards from scrimmage. Name a former running back who put up numbers like that even in their prime?

You can’t.

It hasn’t happened.

Derrick Henry, just a little over 2 years removed from his Heisman winning ceremony, has quietly found himself as the most consistent year to year workhorse in the NFL.
