The Duke William
Relax in front of the fire, perch at the bar or tuck yourself away in a cosy corner
and enjoy the superb food, drink and atmosphere in our quintessential Kentish
Pub located in the heart of the Garden of England.
Eating: The Duke William menus have been created using the best produce the
surrounding countryside has to offer. The daily pub menu is served throughout
The Duke so take your pick from the restaurant area, aptly named ‘the den’, the
conservatory looking out over the garden and the fields beyond, or the main
pub area next to the roaring fire, dominated by our magnificent central bar. If it
is something more casual you are after then why not graze from the bar menu,
perfectly washed down with a pint or glass of wine.
Sunday roasts are a big deal at The Duke, using the best meat available and
taking care and time over the cooking to achieve the best results. We are firm
believers that the local pub should be a family affair, hence why we have created
an equally hearty children’s menu to keep the little ones amused, even if it only
for a short while!!!
Drinking: A pub just wouldn’t be a pub without great beer and we count
ourselves exceptionally lucky to have access to so many amazing breweries from
around Kent and the South of England. With constantly changing real ales, a
selection of bottled and draft craft beers, plus refreshing local and continental
lagers, the beer lover truly is spoilt for choice. If it’s wine you’re after then our
diverse and eclectic wine list, focusing on tried and tested Old World beauties to
interesting and rewarding New World delights, will really hit the spot.
Sleeping: Our four beautifully furnished guest rooms have been designed with
comfort in mind, made to feel like a real home from home for all of our guests.
Situated just outside the historic City of Canterbury and surrounded by some of
the most beautiful countryside walks Kent has to offer, there really is a wealth
of options to keep you entertained during your stay. Whether you are on a
romantic break, business or simply as a stopover en route to the continent.
Garden: If our roaring fire is something for the Winter then The Duke William
Garden is most certainly something for the Summer. Split into a partially
covered terrace area which is ideal for outdoor dining, and the garden itself,
perfect for a few drinks from our outside bar after a long country walk with
the family.
