Buoy and Oyster
Buoy and Oyster is an independent family run restaurant and cocktail bar
set in a Grade II listed building in the heart of Margate that opened in
November 2015, with menus specialising in British favourites executed with
a modern twist.
Ideally located a stone’s throw away from the Turner Contemporary, Dreamland
and Margate Old Town and with an outside terrace overlooking the beach it is
the perfect location to enjoy the stunning views and beautiful Margate sunsets
in a relaxed and stylish setting.
Head chef, Simon Morriss and his team create well loved seafood dishes such
as moules frites, Dover sole, beer battered fish and chips, seafood linguine and
of course oysters. By using local Kent fishermen all fish and shellfish are usually
landed and on your plate the very same day. Although specialising in seafood,
the a la carte menu has a variety of other options with the 28 day aged 10oz
rib-eye served with roasted bone-marrow and 12-hour braised lamb shoulder
already firm favourites.
The menu also has a variety of vegetarian and gluten-free options, and with
sharing platters and oysters available throughout the day it is the perfect place
to enjoy a bite to eat with a cocktail or two.
