MRS JONES’ KITCHEN Located at the heart of the historic Kings Mile in Canterbury and just a few steps from the Cathedral Gate Mrs Jones’ Kitchen is a light, bright and spacious restaurant. Opened in May 2013 by sisters Clare & Sarah, they have taken their inspiration from the Good, Honest Cooking they’ve grown up with. Their Grandmother, Nancy Jones was a true in?uence and is behind the restaurant name. The traditional English dishes are all prepared freshly on site and where possible using fresh ingredients from local suppliers. Breakfast is an important part of the day at Mrs Jones’ Kitchen where you’ll ?nd breakfast dishes from porridge through to the free range full English breakfast (with a vegetarian option) from 8.30 in the morning. There are also plenty of children’s choices too. The menu includes classic dishes such as sausage and mash, ham, egg & chips and the MJK Gourmet burger (homemade using the ?nest Kent beef). There is a wide selection of sandwiches with perennial favourites like toasted Ham & Cheese and Fish Finger with Marie-rose sauce. As a family business Clare & Sarah are always keen to welcome families of all ages into their restaurant, with its simple, clean and comfortable decor, the spacious area is great for kids and accessible for buggies. Children can be kept amused with the books, board games and colouring provided whilst large picture windows offer a great spot to watch the world go by. Fully licenced, Sarah has drawn on her past career in the wine industry and worked with multi award winning agency Bibendum to select a concise, but comprehensive wine list accompanied by a selection of bottled beers, ciders and premium spirits. With amazing views of the Marlowe Theatre it makes a great pre-theatre venue. It is also available for private hire, large parties including kids tea parties and cake decorating. There are always lots of events and local community activities going on.
