DEESON’S BRITISH RESTAURANT Have you been to Deeson’s British restaurant set in the heart of Canterbury? It’s on all the restaurant review sites, in the local newspapers and magazines and for all the right reasons! Producing most of our own vegetables, fruit and meat, including rare breed pork (Gloucester Old Spot, English Lop, Tamworth and Saddleback), Free range ‘Kentish Ranger’ chickens, free range geese (reared for the Christmas table), the eggs from the chickens and the geese and the delicious sweet and so beautifully clear honey from the ?ve franticly busy bee hives. Not forgetting the long list of vegetables; Rainbow chard, broad beans, spinach and a whole host of beautifully aromatic herbs that make their way into the kitchen daily from the small holding, AKA ‘The bunker’ in the beautiful Kent countryside. We also smoke our own ?sh and meats including mackerel, salmon, chicken and bacon…so very tasty. Head chef, Tom Batt, who has been at Deeson’s for four years, waits eagerly for the delivery from Sam Deeson each morning to see what can be created for the menu that day…most of us would stand back scratching our heads as to what can be created, but Tom gets to work with his brigade of talented chefs to create some stunning dishes for lunch and dinner. Two talented local pianists, Luke Smith and Perry White, can help you while away the hours on a Tuesday and Thursday lunch and dinner. The front of house team are also very passionate about what Deeson’s offers over other restaurants in the city and are only too pleased to be able to talk you through the menu and wines that will help complement your meal. Some of the team also work some of their shifts at ‘The Bunker’ planting and picking crops and feeding the animals on a regular basis. We bake our own bread to be served in the restaurant for dinner. There is always something delectable to taste, white sesame seed bloomers, wholemeal browns, wild garlic and rosemary or date and walnut. Do you have a party to organise?
