DREAMLAND ANNOUNCE INCREDIBLE SUMMER OF LIVE MUSIC
Margate ’ s Dreamland has announced the start of an exciting lineup of stars who will take to the Scenic Stage in Summer 2023 .
Friday 23 June will see the original Pop Idol winner Will Young take to the stage following the 20th anniversary of his iconic win in 2022 and the release of album 20 Years : The Greatest Hits , a collection of his highest-ever charting singles .
Will Young has spent the last two decades at the forefront of pop with an expansive career has culminated in four # 1 and two # 2 chart topping albums , two BRIT Awards , four UK number one singles and hits including ‘ Leave Right Now ’, ‘ Evergreen ’ and ‘ Jealousy ’. Tickets cost £ 38.50 , VIP Tickets £ 58.50 + booking fee . Gates open 6pm , show starts 7pm .
Friday 21 July will welcome the original lineup of Joanne Catherall , Phil Oakey and Susan Ann Sulley of the iconic band The Human League with special guest Marc Almond to the iconic venue .
Best known for a song they never wanted to release as a single but that went on to become the biggest seller of 1981 , over forty years since the release of ‘ Don ’ t You Want Me ’, The Human League continue to make and share the best of electronic music without being tarnished by retro cheesiness . General admission standing tickets cost £ 35 , VIP Tickets £ 55 + booking fee . Gates open 6pm , show starts 7pm .
MEDWAY LIGHT NIGHTS TO RETURN THIS FEBRUARY
A spectacular two-day light extravaganza , with a 12-storey-high interactive installation , is set to illuminate Medway ’ s naval town of Chatham .
Drawing on the success of the first Medway Light Nights , which attracted more than 60,000 people to historic Rochester in 2022 , the free festival will return to Medway ’ s Chatham city centre in February 2023 and is anticipated to be an even bigger , better and brighter light display .
The display will include transforming Mountbatten House , at one end of Chatham High Street , into a video screen with animations , while at the other end of the High Street visitors will be taken on a journey through Medway , exploring the enchanted river that made Chatham great thanks to the immersive The Magical Medway experience of lights , sounds , theatre and surprises at Nucleus Arts .
CASH FOR CAUSES DONATION FOR KING ’ S REACH EDUCATION
King ’ s Reach Education , the Senacre in Maidstonebased Independent Special School , which improves the life chances of local boys at risk of educational failure by supporting over secondary aged children to reengage with education , build positive relationships and enable employability , has once again benefited from a charitable donation by local firm Bower Lane Tyres .
The ‘ Kumho Cash for Causes ’ initiative meant that every time a customer bought a new Kumho tyre , of which the tyre company have been the sole supplier in Maidstone for over 10 years , a percentage of the sale went back into the local community through the work of King ’ s Reach .
Commenting on the welcomed donation King ' s Reach CEO , Stewart King said : “ We are extremely grateful for the continued support from Bower Lane Tyres and are looking forward to working with them in the future .”
