THE MARLOWE THEATRE
THE MARLOWE THEATRE HAS AN EXCITING NEW SEASON OF SHOWS, INCLUDING WELL-
LOVED MUSICALS, DANCE AND FRESH ADAPTATIONS OF LITERARY WORKS.
The smash hit musical Mamma Mia, based on the music by ABBA, is back in
Canterbury for 3 weeks this summer. The irresistibly funny show is the perfect
feel good night out this summer.
Following Mamma Mia, well known director Emma Rice has adapted and directed
the Enid Blyton children’s book Malory Towers into a brand-new musical.
In August, Peter Andre joins the cast of Grease The Musical as Vince Fontaine and
Teen Angel. This gritty production sees Arlene Philips choreographing the
famous dance numbers.
As audience members you get to decide what story you want to see with
Quiz, the drama about the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire coughing major scandal,
this September.
Following Quiz, relive the 90s cult film with Heathers The Musical, which comes
to Canterbury following a sell-out West End run.
Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg’s Les
Misérables is coming in October. This new staging of the iconic musical was first
conceived by Cameron in 2009 to celebrate its 25th anniversary and has since
taken the world by storm.
Glyndebourne are back with us this November with two classic Operas Madama
Butterfly and The Magic Flute, as well as a look behind the scenes with a special
performance of The Magic Flute: Behind The Curtain.
