Enjoying the healthy benefits of fresh air and experiencing the changing season is incredibly uplifting and essential to many. Hop through the beautiful grounds following the trail of colourful carrots to claim your delicious chocolate treat during the Easter event ( 2 – 19 April). As well as an Easter trail, your little ones will also be able to take part in an Easter egg hunt. With a spring in your step, head into the Castle and take part in another Easter themed trail. Be uplifted by over 20,000 tulip bulbs proudly standing to attention and providing a visual feast of spring colour (21 – 26 April). 42 A new tulip border has been added at Two Sisters’ Lawn where visitors can see the dahlias in September. Over 3,000 bulbs have been planted here in a kaleidoscope of colours. There are free tulip tours Tuesday to Friday at 11.30am and the striking blooms will continue inside the Castle with displays by in-house florist Pamela Brise. Unusual bulbs on show this year include striking varieties such as Orca, the Yellow Spring Green, Texas Flame and Brownie. There’s much to see at Hever in springtime, including the bluebells in Park Wood and New Smugglers Way off Lake Walk, magnolias, blossom in Anne Boleyn’s Orchard and the spring flowering trees on Sunday Walk and Church Gill Walk. Head gardener Neil Miller said: “Springtime at Hever is absolutely magnificent. The tulips will be thrilling visitors in the Italian Garden, the spring flowering magnolia trees will be dusting the pathways with confetti and the gates to Park Wood and the bluebells will be open. The team really look forward to providing tours of the gardens at this time of year - there’s so much to see and to be inspired by.” See www.hevercastle.co.uk for all the latest updates.
