RORY O’GRADY is one of the exciting new Kent authors who has recently joined The Conrad Press. He travelled extensively during his life and has now settled in Canterbury to write. The Passionate Imperialists, published in 2018, is a fascinat- ing biography of Sir Frederick Lugard, adventurer, explorer and the first Governor of Nigeria, and his wife Dame Flora Shaw, the first woman colonial editor of The Times. It tells the inspiring story of two major figures in Victorian England who lived through times of profound change between 1858 and 1945. Rory is working on his next intriguing book recounting the stories of thirty-one crew and passengers on a flight to Naples involved in a fatal mid-air collision with an Italian fighter near Rome in 1958. It will be published by The Conrad Press in the autumn. www.theconradpress.com HAVE YOU WRITTEN A BOOK THAT DESERVES PUBLICATION? THE CONRAD PRESS The publishing industry is changing.
