Kent School Games continue
to change young lives through
sport and physical activity!
Kent School Games are now open and young people across
the county between the ages of 4 -18, in primary, secondary
and special needs schools will take part in the
countywide event at venues across Kent.
Now in its 12th year The Kent School
Games is a biennial sporting extravaganza
set up in 2008 as a Kent County Council
Olympic and Paralympic legacy project,
to inspire schools and young people to
participate in competitive school sport.
The Games will take place at venues across
the county with the climax Summer finals
being held at the Polo Farm Sports Club in
Canterbury on 23 June.
The Kent School Games is open to young
people of all abilities and includes the
Change 4 Life programme, which aims to
encourage less-active children to take part in
more physical activity and to engage in school.

Scarlett Mann, PE Teacher
at Brompton Academy said;
“Rowing at BA has grown
massively over the past year, with
success across a number of age
groups and gender categories
at secondary school games
competitions. Our students come
from fairly deprived backgrounds
and sometimes lack the
opportunities and support to
excel in sport."
It is great to see the change
that is happening with rowing
as well as a number of other
sports and exciting to see
that the hard work from both
staff and students is paying off.
From a school who only have
1 working rowing machine, it
just shows that with a little hard
work and dedication, anything
is possible. This is one of our
biggest achievements to date and
we thank Kent School Games
and the Medway Secondary
School Games for making this
opportunity possible.”
