A new outdoor art trail at Chartwell, the home of Winston
Churchill, puts the politician’s paintings into the landscape
at the same points he created them. Celebrating painting,
landscape and the role these played as an antidote to
pressure and strain for Churchill, Art at Chartwell invites
others to embrace the views that brought the politician so
much solace, satisfaction and enjoyment. The National
Trust team are placing eight copies of Chartwell paintings
into the ground at the very places these viewpoints were
painted by Churchill between 1924 and 1950.
