Making each day meaningful
Maintaining independence is a vital
part of staying happy and healthy
as we age. A fundamental part
of the ethos of Weald Heights is
helping people to enjoy meaningful
lifestyles. Weald Heights residents
love learning new things – as well
as doing activities with children
of all ages. Our regular Spanish
lessons bring together residents
and young children to learn a new
language together.
Our home is also an active member
of the Sevenoaks Dementia
Friendly Community, and holds film
screenings in our cinema so that local
family carers and their relatives who
are living with dementia can enjoy an
outing in a supportive setting.
Making wishes come true
Like everyone else, Weald Heights
residents have wishes and goals that
they’d like to fulfil. We have therefore
installed a wishing tree inside the
home where residents can hang their
written wishes. Our team then works
hard to make them happen. When
one lady wanted to have a part of
the garden set aside just for her to
plant and grow flowers, we created a
raised flower bed just for her. We’ve
also arranged for another resident to
tour London’s Royal Albert Hall.
