Hidden away in a secluded Kent

valley, sits Ightham Mote, a medieval
moated manor house, whose previous
owners include medieval knights, a
courtier to Henry VIII, high society
Victorians, and an American
businessman.
Surrounding the house are gardens,
with natural water features, and an
estate with stunning views across the
Weald of Kent.

Servants’ Lives
Let our tour guides take you on a
journey to discover the hidden stories
of life as a servant during the late-
19th to mid-20th century. Who were
they? What roles did they fulfil?
Where did they live?
(Please note: the tours take place in
the ground floor domestic areas of
the house, with the rest of the house
closed for conservation work. The
house itself re-opens on Sat 29
February).
After your have explored the gardens
and estate, why not relax in the Mote
