VISITKENT MY FARMERS MARKETS IN KENT Attending a farmers market is a real day out for all the family – there’s an enormous range of locally produced food, drink and craft to buy, with lots to look at. A farmers market gives a great opportunity to talk to the stallholders directly and ask them questions about the products they are selling – how and where it is grown or made. A large proportion of the produce available is sold to you direct by the people who either grew, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked, or produced the product. My Farmers Market have been running farmers markets in Kent since 2000, and currently offer 5 monthly farmers markets in different venues across the area, so that residents can buy local on a regular basis. Each farmers market has different stallholders and the size of the market varies from location to location. Hall Place Bexley Farmers Market, on the 1st Sunday of the month, is set in beautiful surroundings, whilst West Malling Farmers Market, on the 4th Sunday of the month, offers on average 35 different stalls of great local food, drink and craft. To find out more about the markets details can be found on the website: www.myfarmersmarket.co.uk Or take a look at social media: Twitter @mfarmersmarket, instagram @mfarmersmarket, or the individual farmers market Facebook pages to find out news about items in season, stallholders and produce at the different markets, whilst supporting small local businesses and shopping local. 46
