SIDEWAYS MEDIA ANNOUNCED AS FIRST TENANT
OF THE NEW ASHFORD COACHWORKS
Award-winning media company, and
publishers of insideKENT, Sideways
Media, have completed their move into
Ashford’s new creative hub,
Coachworks. The development, a
partnership between Ashford Borough
Council and Turner Works, has
transformed the site at Dover Place,
close to the international train station,
into a mixed-use creative community.
Following the success of similar
‘meanwhile’ spaces across London,
Coachworks offers flexible, accessible
and affordable working spaces, and a
new dynamic to Asford’s creative scene.
The Cornstore provides co-working
spaces and studios; perfect for creative
individuals, business start ups and like-
minded creative agencies to share ideas and create a better work-life balance. Whilst the Yard and the soon
to open Hot House, will house innovative and exciting food traders, and will host a variety of events; including
the Christmas food market as part of Ashford’s Illuminites.
Adam Ready, sales and publishing director of Sideways Media said: “As a local resident, and having seen
Ashford developing over the last few years to create more opportunities in the town for creative businesses,
I was very excited when I heard about the plans for the Coachworks, and was even more impressed when
it launched. The team at Sideways Media are thrilled to move into our new studio space in the Cornstore,
it is the perfect location and property for us to relocate to at a time of our own exciting business growth. We
are looking forward to being part of something big in the area.”
Georgie White, of the Coachworks, adds: "We are delighted that Sideways Media are the first tenants at
Coachworks and looking forward to a collaborative relationship where we will grow and support each other
to create a truly creative hub of activity. This is the start of something really exciting in Ashford."
KENT COMMUNITY
FOUNDATION LAUNCHES
SURVIVING WINTER CAMPAIGN
Aiming to tackle social isolation, make winter less lonely, and help older
people stay well, healthy and independent, the Kent Community
Foundation Surviving Winter Campaign is calling on anyone who
receives the Winter Fuel Payment, but doesn’t rely on it, as well as
anyone else who is able, to donate.
Projections indicate that there will be a far greater percentage of people
living alone in Kent and Medway in later life than there has ever been
in the past, and it is particularly important for people living alone to be
involved in the local community.
Josephine McCartney, chief executive, Kent Community Foundation
comments: “Kent Community Foundation already supports projects
throughout Kent and Medway that address the everyday challenges
faced by elderly people and we hope that donations to the Surviving
Winter Campaign will allow us to support even more good causes.
“If just 10% of everyone, in receipt of the Winter Fuel Payment, in Kent
and Medway were to donate £100 to the Surviving Winter Campaign,
we would have a fund of more than £3 million to help vulnerable elderly
people in the county.”
Donations can be made at www.kentcf.org.uk/give/surviving-winter,
or by cheque made payable to Kent Community Foundation, and sent
FAO Susan Blay (marked Surviving Winter and with your name and
address on the reverse) to Kent Community Foundation, Evegate
