The second you master something it changes the game so you're rubbish at it again. Standup comedian, viral blogger and bestselling author Sam Avery (aka The Learner Parent) started his award-winning blog when his twin boys were born. A million nappies, Peppa Pig episodes and a head-full of hair loss later, he shares all the lows, highs and hilarious in betweens of his experiences of first-time parenthood. Sam's honest, messy account of wrestling with sleep deprivation and breast pumps, right through to his botched attempts at discipline and pathetic bids to stifle various toddler tantrums that definitely registered on the Richter scale - will have you testing your pelvic floor with laughter. COMING SOON JAM ON THE MARSH Romney Marsh TN28 8AS 4TH – 14TH JULY JAM on the Marsh will light up Romney Marsh with music, beach art, exhibitions, theatre, children’s events and two poetry recitals. Stunning beach artist Jon Foreman, the festival’s first Artist in Residence, will create daily, large-scale designs on Dymchurch beach, using only a rake and string. His ever- changing exhibition will be a visual highlight of the festival, with the sea acting as a giant Etch A Sketch! Better known as head of brass at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and trombonist of Onyx Brass, Amos Miller is also an extraordinary photographer. In his first solo exhibition, he brings his unique eye to Dungeness, with a set of utterly beautiful images that take the area and very slightly turns it on its head. His images are both striking and challenging, though never alienating. Nurturing future young artists, our weekly photography course for Romney Marsh students exploring landscape, people, abstract and long exposure will culminate in a eye-catching exhibition at The End of the Line Restaurant, Dungeness. Both photography exhibitions will be in the carriages of the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway. Inspiring at grassroots, Jon Foreman will lead nature sculpting with twigs, leaves and stones on Children’s Sunday. The beach art and exhibitions are free of charge and on display every day of the festival. Tie these into joining JAM for outstanding performances including the King’s Singers, London Mozart Players and Changeling Theatre.
