Situated on the family farm, each hut is fully equipped with all you need,
whether staying a night or a week. Specially built by a local craftsman to a
traditional 1900’s design, both huts have a cosy double bed, complete with
a Romney Marsh Wools throw, kitchen with hob, a toilet and shower room
as well as your own fire pit – perfect for toasting your marshmallows over
or cooking dinner over the open fire.
The Romney Marsh has many seasons, making it a stunning place to stay
year round, renowned for the glorious ‘desert like’ summers as well as the
mysterious ‘Marsh mists’. With spectacular sunsets, the views from the huts
silhouette the Parish Church of Bonnington, St Rumwold’s, after which one
hut is named. Like the huts, the church is off the grid and is one of the very
few churches that has no electricity and has a traditional pump organ. This
beautiful landmark is within walking distance and can be visited during
daylight hours.
The huts also have their own small flock of sheep who live in the surrounding
field, allowing you to get a real feel for life on the farm, which sits within
an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with diverse habitats, extensive
coastline and rich history. The local
area offers a wide variety of activities
for young and old alike, with just a
short drive to Folkestone, Rye and
Canterbury, and world famous
attractions such as Port Lympne right
on the doorstep.
