MOTHER’SDAY
GIVE MUM WHAT SHE DESERVES CONT.
FULL THE ‘MUM JAR’
Get all the children to write on little notes and place
them in a jar. Include things like reasons why they
love mum, favourite memories, pictures that they
have drawn for her, poems, or things to do together.
Aim for 52 minimum and 365 if you can manage
it, and give mum a special note every week or day
of the forthcoming year.
REMEMBER YOUR MUM
Mother’s Day is a day to celebrate and honour your
mum, and it is especially difficult to watch friends,
family members or even strangers celebrating their
mothers when your own is far away or no longer
here. Instead of mourning, try to celebrate your
mum, remember the good times and honour all the
happy memories. Play favourite songs, visit favourite

places, share photos, videos and memories with
your own children, eat her favourite dinner and
have a day of using her favourite sayings and using
her anecdotes to bring her memory alive. Remind
yourself that her greatest gift was you.
SAY THANK YOU AND I LOVE YOU
Five simple words that mean more than any others:
‘Thank You’ and ‘I Love You’. Mean them, say
them and demonstrate them, often, not just on
Mother’s Day, and make the most rewarding job in
the world even more special.
Mums, we salute you.
