Now in its sixth year, JAM on the Marsh is an
annual multi-arts festival of outstanding visiting
and local artists, built around Kent’s magnificent
Romney Marsh and its famous medieval churches.
Each year JAM on the Marsh crosses the Romney
Marsh in venues from Dungeness to Hythe and
Lympne to New Romney. The Marsh churches are
true beacons of culture and history; they are the
heart of the festival.
JAM on the Marsh 2019 features music, exhibitions,
children’s events, theatrical performances, poetry
recitals and a churches tour. Highlights include the
world-famous King’s Singers making their debut,
an open-air performance of racy Nell Gwynn by
Changeling Theatre, a 120-musician performance
of Paul Mealor’s The Farthest Shore, stunning beach
art by Jon Foreman and Children’s Sunday of
storytelling, props making, clowning, nature sculpture
and steam trains.
JAM on the Marsh 2018 was a triumph, with
audience numbers up across all events, eight sold-
out events, a combination of free and tickets events
and total audience of 15,600 people.
Information and tickets for 2019 are now live at
www.jamconcert.org or on 0800 988 7984.
£11,000 DONATION
FOR HELP FOR HEROES
RoyaleLife, the company behind Kent’s luxury gated
bungalow community Reculver Court, has donated
£11,000 to military charity Help for Heroes.
The company, which is the country’s leader in
bungalow living, says the move marks its support
for the UK’s wounded veterans and forms part of
its bid to support worthy causes in 2019.
Chief Executive, Robert Bull, visited Help for Heroes’
Tedworth House Recovery Centre in Tidworth to
donate the cheque and find out how the money will
fund vital services for serving and ex-military.
He said: “The UK’s Armed Forces community
makes sacrifices for the good of us all so it’s really
important for us to recognise what they do and show
our appreciation. Help for Heroes does a fantastic
job in supporting both serving and veteran forces
personnel and we are thrilled to contribute towards
its work.”
