The Hayesbrook School is an all-ability academy
for boys in Tonbridge with a mixed sixth form.
The academy enjoys excellent teaching and the
highest expectations of its students.
The school was rated by Ofsted as securely
‘Good’ in its most recent inspection with the
report stating: “The Hayesbrook School is a
calm and orderly place to learn. Relationships
between adults and pupils are warm and
caring. Pupils are focused in lessons…”.
Executive Principal, Daniel Hatley is proud
to lead the academy with Head of School
Collette Nelson. Both are passionate
that all boys have high expectations of
themselves and what they want to achieve.
The Academy’s commitment is to ensuring
students are all on a pathway to the career or
university of their choice.
Mr Hatley says “We recognise that students
thrive when they are well looked after and
feel safe. Our students greatly appreciate
the vast range of trips and opportunities
Hayesbrook offers them beyond fantastic
teaching and learning. This and our small
school approach are the things that make us
special. We know our students individually
and do whatever it takes to ensure they
achieve their very best”.
Hayesbrook has recently announced its
successful application to the Military of
Defence to open a combined Cadet Force. This
will provide another chance to develop the
skills of leadership, communication, resilience,
problem solving and team work. The CCF
is a collaboration with nearby Tonbridge
School and students will enjoy this addition
to the already extensive enrichment activities
through a wide range of exciting opportunities
such as adventurous activities, survival skills,
first aid, trips and camps. The academy is also
currently in talks with premiership football club
Chelsea FC regarding the opening of an on-
site academy for students in September 2019.
Exciting times ahead.

The High Weald Academy is looking forward
to opening the doors to its brand new building,
later this year.
Students joining the academy in September
will benefit from state of the art learning
facilities in which to learn and achieve their
absolute potential. The all-ability academy in
the heart of the Cranbrook community is part
of the Brook Learning Trust.
Executive Principal Daniel Hatley is excited
about leading the academy with Head of
School Lisa Barker. The two joined the school
in September.
Mr Hatley said “High Weald is a great place
to learn. Our on-site farm provides a unique
experience for students beyond their taught
curriculum. Our new building will give us
a brilliant opportunity to keep what we all
love about our school and what makes us
successful as well as seize the opportunity to
make huge steps in developing a world class
school for our young people.”
