An increased service will operate over the weekend which will see two steam locomotives in service including the impressive 1901 built Great Western Railway Locomotive No. 813 visiting courtesy of the Severn Valley Railway and the GWR 813 Preservation Fund. This weekend will be the only chance to experience the engine operating on her own as the other remaining services for 2018 and into early 2019 will likely be a top and tailed arrangement with a heritage diesel. The historic castle is open daily from 27th December to 1st January for those looking to recharge their batteries after the hustle and bustle of Christmas.
