Date Night 2...
If you’re organising a date night, The Kent
Mind, Body and Spirit Festival at the
Hop Farm on 3rd and 4th November could
be exactly what you’re looking for. Too often
these days couples drift apart because they’re
too caught up in the rest of their lives to realise
that their relationship is suffering. Attend the
Kent Mind, Body and Spirit Festival and you’ll
learn how to make time for yourself, each
other and your minds, bodies and spirits too.
You’ll find over 70 exhibitors at this event
including reiki masters, artists, therapists of
all kinds, healers and writers too. No matter
what you want to know more about, you’ll be
able to talk to an expert, listen to a speaker or
watch a demonstration.
When you think of the word ‘date’, perhaps
the first thing that comes to mind is a trip to
the cinema, but not just any old cinema or
any old film is going to do, so why not
experience a drive-in? That’s right, just like
Danny and Sandy in Grease, you can enjoy a
50
drive-in movie in Kent – at the Hop Farm in
Paddock Wood, to be precise. Moonlight
Cinema is the UK’s largest drive-in movie
experience and we’re lucky enough to have
it right on our doorstep. The premise is simple:
book your tickets and drive to the large open
space set up for the film, park in your
designated spot, switch off your headlights,
sit back and watch. You can order food that is
brought directly to your car, and don’t worry
about not being able to hear what’s going on
– you just need to tune in your car’s radio to
the correct frequency and you’ll be able to
hear every sound.
If you’re still hungry after a busy and romantic
day, The Poet at Matfield is a gorgeous place
to enjoy a good meal and is less than two
miles away from the Hop Farm at Paddock
Wood. The Poet has a romantic ring to its
name and the restaurant itself certainly lives
up to expectations. With a cosy, intimate
atmosphere that means you can have a
sumptuous meal for two, the food is pretty
special here and includes heirloom heritage
tomatoes, green olive tapenade, 28-day-aged
beef fillet, pommes dauphinoise, and orange
and cinnamon panna cotta with honeycomb.
Date Night 3...
Maybe the idea of being locked in a room
somewhere with your partner doesn’t appeal
at first, but hear us out – this isn’t any old
room, this is an ‘Escape Room’. At Escape
Kent, you and your partner form a formidable
team as you have to work together to decipher
clues and find your way out of a locked room.
It’s an adrenaline-filled and fun way to
spend time together, and because you won’t
be able to escape unless you work as a
team, it’s a way to feel closer while you chat
about your experience too. You get an hour
to escape from the room once you’re locked
in, and while you’re in there you get to dress
up and really get into spirit of the adventure
you’re having.
