JUMPIN!
The South’s first inflatable theme park…
MOVE OVER TRAMPOLINE PARKS, THERE’S A BRAND NEW LEISURE EXPERIENCE IN TOWN… A WHOPPING
25,000SqFt OF SOFT, BOUNCY AIR-FILLED FUN, BURGESS HILL’S BRAND NEW JUMPIN THEME PARK IS
WALL-TO-WALL INFLATABLE FUN FOR KIDS OF ALL AGES. EXACTLY WHAT THE SOUTH NEEDED TO ADD
TO ITS PRETTY INCREDIBLE REPERTOIRE OF FAMILY DAY OUT OPTIONS, JUMPIN IS A REALLY EXCITING
ADDITION TO THE REGION: PERFECT FOR RAINY DAYS, BIRTHDAY PARTIES, OR SIMPLY KEEPING ACTIVE
KIDS OCCUPIED, IT’S WELL WORTH TRAVELLING THAT LITTLE BIT FURTHER FOR. BY POLLY HUMPHRIS
Anything that reduces the time that excitable
kids have to hang around before expelling
some of their boundless energy gets a big tick
from me, and one of the best bits about
Jumpin is that bouncers are required to wear
comfortable clothes such as tracksuits – easy
peasy – and, a refreshing reversal of the
trampoline park etiquette that’s caught me out
in the past (requiring further queueing), they
also have to wear socks…without grips. There
are no height restrictions either – another big
tick for parents with little kids that want to do
everything their older siblings do. Once you’re
parked up in the large on-site car park, your
bouncers are checked in and you can head to
the café for a coffee.
The café doubles as a viewing area and the
whole set-up plays out like a hilarious live
episode of Wipeout with obstacles including
an assault course of up, over and unders; ‘Last
One Standing’, a game that revolves around
avoiding a rotating bar and requires nerves of
steel; a massive five-metre slide that flings
sliders into a soft foam pit; and a giant ball pit
that can be accessed from all sides. It’s a child’s
paradise that’s definitely more suited to kids
aged around six and up, but that bolder little
ones from the age of four are permitted to
explore, while seven-year-olds and under also
48
have access to a fantastic soft play area of
climbing decks, cargo nets, rotating beams,
slides, ball pits and ramps.
A fortunate twist of fate, I’d heard the hype
about Jumpin prior to our visit, so was able to
book my daughter’s tenth birthday party in
there as part of the fun. In addition to wall-to
wall inflatables, party guests have access to a
private party room complete with designated
party host.
It’s a big space and drinks and snacks are
supplied either before or after a pre-discussed,
hour-long jump slot, plus you can connect
your phone to the speaker to play your child’s
favourite playlist and, the piece de resistance
for any kids’ party – there’s a disco ball too.
Exhausted from their two-hour disco, pizza
and inflatable fun combo, every single child
declared they’d had “the best party EVER” and
I swiftly heard that they were more than ready
to head for bed at a reasonable hour later that
night too; a parent bonus worth way more
than the party packages’ £15-a-head price tag.
Allowing for greater inclusivity, there are
super-charged kids from the ages of four to
16 running throughout the inflatable course,
so of course you need to use your parental
common sense to decipher which areas are
more suitable for your own children
depending on their age and ability, but a full
safety briefing is given to groups before they
start their session, so health and safety is
paramount. In the grand scheme of things,
however, the possibility of a minor friction
burn is a minimal risk worth taking for the
sheer unadulterated joy that the freedom of
Jumpin leaves etched on your kids’ faces –
it’s a great day out.
