SLEEPING BEAUTY AT THE
ASSEMBLY HALL THEATRE, TUNBRIDGE WELLS
“Once upon a time in a land far away, a
beautiful princess was born. Cursed by a
wicked fairy, she was destined to spend her
life as the Sleeping Beauty, until awakened by
true love’s kiss...”
Following last year’s record-breaking
production of Aladdin, the Assembly Hall
Theatre and Martin Dodd for UK Productions
proudly present another spectacular Christmas
pantomime. Sleeping Beauty includes TV and
West End star, Claire Sweeney as Carabosse,
Milkshake’s Derek Mahon as Silly Billy and
returning Dame, Quinn Patrick as Nurse Nelly.
Claire Sweeney as Carabosse. Claire has
recently been seen on stage, starring as Irene
Roth in Crazy For You, Baroness Bomburst in
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Velma Von
Tussle in Hairspray (all on national tour). She
recently guest starred as Maxine in the hit ITV
comedy Benidorm, and hosted her own
weekly musical theatre-themed show on
Magic FM. Her extensive work on television
50
includes playing regular character Lindsay
Corkhill in Brookside, the fiery Katrina in the
award-winning drama Clocking Off, Lindsey
Kendal in the popular BBC series Holby City,
Roz in BBC1's hit drama Merseybeat, and
Amanda in comedy drama Candy Cabs.
Derek Moran as Silly Billy. At sixteen Derek
was signed by Warner Brothers Music as a
band member in D-Side, with whom he
enjoyed great success, including three top 10
UK singles and huge success throughout
Europe and Japan, including a number one
album in the Japanese charts. Derek has
appeared on many TV shows including Top
of the Pops, The Saturday Show, Ministry of
Mayhem, MTV, This Morning, The Late Late
Show and Ireland AM. Derek is currently a
leading presenter on Channel 5’s successful
kid’s channel, Milkshake.
Quinn Patrick as Nurse Nelly. Back by popular
demand following his hilarious performance
last year as Widow Twankey in Aladdin,
Quinn’s theatre work includes a national tour
of The Wind in The Willows, playing Toad. He
has appeared in many children's shows and
pantomimes playing the Dame, Ugly Sister,
The Cowardly Lion and Baloo the Bear. His
television credits include Casualty, Castoffs
and Jimmy McGovern’s Moving On for the
BBC as well as BAFTA-winning children’s TV
shows Grandpa in My Pocket and the global
hit HaHa Hairies. His film work includes Danny
and the Human Zoo for BBC film and Red
productions.

Hall Theatre, with choreography by Regan
Shepherd, direction by John-Jackson
