From Kentish produce to Georgian
delicacies and South East Asian cuisine,
Shemomedjamo boasts a plethora of
food options – it's the globetrotting
affair you can't afford to miss! Taking
you from the Far East to West Africa,
the streets of Rome to the barrios of
Santiago, festivalgoers can tour the
world via their taste buds throughout
the weekend.
The creative and intelligent lineup will
offer something a little different; a
melting pot that will bring people from
all walks of life and from all
backgrounds to come together and
enjoy food and music around the
collective table.
2017’s musical lineup boasted
internationally famed acts from Syria,
Canada, India, Gambia and the Congo,
and this year maintains the eclecticism
and high standards set last year. Gasper
Nali's Malawian one-man band,
Algerian Tuareg; desert rock quintet

Imarhan; world-renowned Ivorian DJ
and producer Mr Raoul K; esteemed
world music purveyors Mr Bongo
Soundsystem; quirky Japanese
innovator ICHI; the melancholic
Afrobeat-influenced pop of Aadae;
Japanese dream freak-out tribe, Yama
Warashi; and the enchanting rock
stylings of French songstress Estelle
May will all feature, with more to be
announced soon.
Shemomedjamo is produced by the
Event Umbrella on behalf of Maidstone
Borough Council events taking place
throughout the summer months. Set
in Mote Park, Shemomedjamo is free
to enter for the entire duration.
