VISITKENT MAIDSTONE’S SUMMER OF MUSIC A GREAT PASSION FOR MUSIC IS ENTRENCHED IN THE CULTURAL FABRIC OF MAIDSTONE AND THIS YEAR WE CELEBRATE THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FAMOUS LEEDS CASTLE CLASSICAL CONCERT. THE FIRST CONCERT TOOK PLACE IN 1978 SO THIS YEAR A SPECIAL FINALE WILL INCLUDE GREATEST HITS FROM THE 70’S ERA. Shemomedjamo, image by Holly Triggs Mote Park is renowned for Ramblin Man Fair, a classic rock festival that brings audiences from around the world. It also hosts a free event, Shemomedjamo, a multicultural celebration of food and music on August bank holiday weekend, featuring original music on stage from world artists. An abundance of big name artists will be performing this summer at The Kent Event Centre. Little Mix will be taking to the stage in July, followed in August by The Grandslam Leeds Castle Classical Concert Tour 2018 with Simple Minds, one of the UK’s most successful bands, plus performances from The Pretenders and KT Tunstall. At the end of August, Craig David and special guest Rita Ora will be heading there. Based in Yalding, on the banks of the River Medway, The Vicar's Picnic is a two-day music festival featuring artists from across the country, including StarSailor, the Dualers, Fun Lovin' Criminals, Noble Jacks and many more.
