SEE JOE PASQUALE AS FRANK SPENCER

AT KENT THEATRES IN 2018!

EVERYONE’ S FAVOURITE 1970’ S CLASSIC TV COMEDY, SOME MOTHERS DO‘ AVE‘ EM IS BACK WITH JOE PASQUALE STARRING AS THE LOVEABLE ACCIDENT-PRONE FRANK SPENCER, SARAH EARNSHAW AS HIS WIFE BETTY AND SUSIE BLAKE AS HIS DISAPPROVING MOTHER-IN-LAW, MRS FISHER. JOE ANSWERED OUR QUICKFIRE Q & A BELOW TO LET US KNOW WHAT WE CAN EXPECT FROM THE SHOW.
The most successful sitcom of the decade gave us the hapless Frank – and his long suffering wife, Betty – with catchphrases galore and a never-ending list of disasters with roller-skating escapades and runaway chickens.
Joe Pasquale is a national comedy treasure and is one of the hardest working and top-selling live comedians in British comedy today. He exploded onto our television screens in New Faces and then went on to win I’ m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here and host The Price is Right. Susie Blake’ s incredible career includes Wicked and Blithe Spirit, not forgetting that she had us all in stiches in The Victoria Wood Show for the BBC. Some Mothers Do‘ Ave‘ Em is directed by the award-winning Guy Unsworth.
Hi Joe. Frank Spencer is such an iconic character, how have you prepared for the role?
Filling Frank Spencer’ s boots is an enormous undertaking, and certainly not one that I have taken lightly... We have been working on the script for over two years, and had three different workshops for the play. I ' m so happy it ' s now all coming together. We even have a stunt coordinator on board, so I’ ve been in physical training as well to keep fit!
What can Kent audiences expect from Some Mothers Do‘ Ave‘ Em?
Audiences can expect two hours of honest, funny comedy, the likes of which we don’ t see any more on our TV screens. There will be something that every age group can laugh at. It ' s proper laugh-out-loud family entertainment.
You’ ve been touring the UK with stand-up and theatre shows for many years. Do you enjoy the touring lifestyle and do you have any favourite venues?
I love doing the shows and standup gigs on tour, but I hate the travelling side of it and I’ m not that keen on hotels every night of the week, plus it’ s difficult eating healthily on tour. However, the audiences more than make up for the bad side of touring life!
My favourite gigs in the country are the old variety theatres. They have a lot of atmosphere and they all seem to be haunted. I love nothing more than getting to an old theatre early in the morning and just sitting on the stage, looking out at the empty auditorium and taking in the scariness of it.
Joe Pasquale stars as Frank Spencer in Some Mothers Do ' Ave ' Em at The Churchill Theatre, Bromley, from Monday 12th March to Saturday 17th March 2018. Tickets and more info at www. churchilltheatre. co. uk.
