HOLLYWOOD COMES TO KENT It is shaping up to be another record year for location filming in Kent as Hollywood blockbusters, Bollywood productions, music videos and primetime TV dramas flock to the county. Productions choose Kent for its stunning coastline from Botany Bay to the marshlands on the Isle of Sheppey; heritage properties such as Leeds Castle and The Historic Dockyard Chatham; and modern towns such as Gravesend and Sevenoaks, which are in close proximity to the London studios. “While productions are filming in the county , they stay in our hotels, dine out at our restaurants and shop with our local businesses, often bringing revenue out of peak tourist season,” says Gabrielle Lindemann, Kent film officer. “The Tunnel - Vengeance (series 3) filmed scenes at the Port of Ramsgate, Tunnel Approach; The Mercy, starring Colin Firth and Rachel Weisz filmed on HMS Gannet at The Historic Dockyard Chatham and Bewl Water; and Darkest Hour, starring Oscar-tipped Gary Oldman, is showing in cinemas now and was filmed at Fort Amherst and Chartwell House.” The Tunnel - Vengeance - © Sky Atlantic To find out which Kent locations are featured in your favourite programmes and films visit https://kentfilmoffice.co.uk/category/filmed-in-kent/. 129
